Mayor Murphy and council members Kirkpatrick, Greiner, and McAreavy were present. Phillips arrived at 7:35 p.m.  Lortz was absent. 

 

The Council received five bids for the Child Development Care Center project.

 

Mark Brinkman lives at 704 North Street and had raw sewage in his basement again.  This has been the second time in two years that this has happened.  

 

1.   Motion by Kirkpatrick seconded by Greiner to approve the consent agenda:

a.                   Minutes of the April 14, 2008 council meeting  

b.                  Bills as presented

Ayes: TM, MG, DK, absent; TP, PL.  Motion carried.

 

2.  Motion by McAreavy seconded by Kirkpatrick to allow Stone Creek to burn the 2.5 acres of wildflower at the Stone Creek Country Club.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

3.  Motion by Phillips seconded by Greiner to approve Resolution No. 12-04-08 to authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with LL Pelling for the 2008 water/sewer school parking lot project.   Roll call: TP, TM, DK, MG, absent; PL.  Motion carried.

 

4.  Motion by Phillips seconded by Kirkpatrick to open a public hearing at 8:00 p.m. on proposed drawings and specifications proposed form of contract and estimate of cost for the construction of the Williamsburg Child Development Center.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

5.  Motion by Phillips seconded by Greiner to table the public hearing at 8:05 p.m.   All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

6.  Motion by Kirkpatrick seconded by Greiner to authorize the Mayor to sign a letter requesting an additional $100,000 CDBG grant for the Child Development Center project.   All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

7.  Motion by Phillips seconded by McAreavy to go back into the public hearing.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

8.  Motion by Phillips seconded by Kirkpatrick to close the public hearing.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

9.  Motion by Kirkpatrick seconded by Greiner  to approve Resolution No. 13-04-08 approving and confirming plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the Williamsburg Child Development Center project.  Roll call:  ayes; TM, MG, DK, TP, absent; PL.  Motion carried.

 

10. Motion by McAreavy seconded by Greiner that this meeting for the child development center by adjourned to May 27, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at which time the Council will meet to further consider such proposals.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

11.  Motion by Kirkpatrick seconded by Greiner to set a public hearing at 7:45 p.m. to amend the fiscal year 2008 budget.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

 

12.  Motion by Greiner seconded by Kirkpatrick to adjourn at 8:55 p.m.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
